Back in 1980, Joe Dolce had a hit with his novelty song “Shaddap You Face.”
I doubt he imagined that the song would take on a new life two decades later when rapper KRS-One covered it. In 2000, the cover appeared in the movie Once in the Life, followed by its inclusion on KRS-One’s own album, Sneak Attack, a year later. The film is notable for being written, directed by, and starring Laurence Fishburne.
